Le 27 mars, notre groupe de quatre étudiants ainsi qu’un membre de l’association, Houssam, sommes partis à pied jusqu’à IMZOUHREN, village qui se situe à 6km de Zaouit.
Nous avons pris avec nous des affiches ainsi que des outils permettant de réaliser l’enquête sur les méfaits du sucre. Un thé nous a été offert avant notre intervention par une famille de Imzouhren.
Nous avons rencontré 64 femmes dans une école. Elles se sont toute prêtées au jeu. Nous leur avons posé plusieurs questions afin de cibler leurs connaissances sur:
- L’étiologie des maladies liées au sucre
- Les signes cliniques
- Les traitements
- Les complications
Une quinzaine de femmes participaient activement et d’autres étaient attentives mais plus discrètes.
Certaines questions suscitaient des désaccords entre elles. Il y avait une femme diabétique qui avait beaucoup de connaissances, et qui nous a montré son carnet de suivi de diabète.
Hicham, un autre membre de l’association, Houssam et une infirmière locale, traduisaient nos conversations avec les habitantes de IMZOURHEN.
Après deux heures d’échanges fructueux, nous nous sommes dit au revoir chaleureusement et nous avons remercié ces dames pour leur participation. Nous avons prévenu de notre prochaine venue dans trois jours pour l’action de santé publique.
Investigation at IMZOUHREN
On March 27, our group of four students and a member of the association, Houssam, walked to IMZOUHREN, a village situated at 6km from Zaouit.
We took with us posters and tools to carry out the investigation into the harmful effects of sugar. A tea was offered to us before our intervention by a family of Imzouhren. We had a warm welcome.
We met 64 women in a school. They were all involved for the investigation. We asked them several questions in order to focus their knowledge on:
- The etiology of diseases related to sugar
- Clinical signs
- Treatments
- Complications
The fifteen women were participated actively and the others were attentive but more discreet.
Some questions raised disagreements between them. There was a diabetic woman who had a lot of knowledge, and who showed us her diabetes diary.
Hicham, another member of the association, Houssam and a local nurse, were translating our exchanges of informations for them.
After two hours of interesting exchanges, we said goodbye warmly and thanked the women for their participation. We warned them of our next meeting in three days for the public health action.
